Dear friends, Rotary Club Moscow-East invite you to visit our two wonderful capitals and learn about their culture, history and architecture, and what is the most important, to get familiar and make friends with the Rotarians of district 2220. The tour program includes sightseeing tours, dinners with clubs and participation in the district assembly where networking events, aimed at establishing social and business contacts, will be held.

Day 1

May 20

Arrival in Moscow. Transfer from the airport to Hotel 4*.

Day 2

May 21

8:00 Trip to the Sergiyev Posad

Sergiyev Posad the only city in the Moscow Region to be included in the Golden Ring is Sergiev Posad which is closely linked with the UNESCO-protected Troitse-Sergieva Lavra which was founded in the 14th century by St Sergius of Radonezh. The Lavra is now one of the most important religious sites in Russian and St Sergius is one of the most revered native Russian saints.

Day 3

8:00 Trip to the Suzdal

Suzdal is often referred to as an open-air museum for the amount of old buildings that have been preserved and the lack of industrialisation. Several sights are protected by UNESCO as the White Stone Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal. Highlights include the Spaso-Yefimiev Monastery, which is now a museum, and the museums of the Kremlin.

Day 4

8:00 Departure to Vladimir

09:00 Sightseeing tour of Vladimir,the ancient capital of the north-east Russia.

Vladimir As the former capital of mediaeval Russia, Vladimir is a very historically important city. It is somewhat more industrial than its neighbour of Suzdal but its Golden Gates, St Demetrius’ Cathedral and the Dormition Cathedral are UNESCO protected and masterpieces of ancient Russian architecture.

Day 5

10:00 –  Trip to Kolomenskoe park

Tour to the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve

Parade Chambers and Private Chambers of the Kolomna Palace

During the tour, the guests will learn how the palace of Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich was constructed, make a walk through the ceremonial halls and personal quarters of the Tsar and the Tsaritsa and get the understanding of how the royal family spent time in their Kolomna Palace.

14.00 -16. Free time in the park.

17:45 Romantic walk (dinner included) around the Golden Island of Moscow

A two-hour walk with dinner along the most unusual route in the center of Moscow around the Golden Island, with passing through a unique section of the Vodootvodny Canal, inaccessible to other ships. During the cruise you will see not only all the major tourist attractions of the capital – the Moscow Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the Monument to Peter the Great – but also the amazing floating fountains on the Vodootvodny Canal ("water bypass canal"), as well as the architecture of the "small"

bridges of the canal. The panoramic premium motor vessel "Maria Ermolova" welcomes you to enjoy its cozy atmosphere, fully opening windows in the lower lounge, live music and a delicious chef's dinner.

Tretyakov Gallery.

Vast museum complex. Masterpieces of Russian art from the 11th to early 20th century, temporary exhibitions. Historical building, which housed the collection of the Gallery's founder – Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov (since 1856).  

13:00 Lunch in the Tretyakov brothers' original cuisine restaurant.

18:00 RUSSIAN PARTY. Charity dinner with Moscow clubs.


Day 7

May 26

09:00 Group gathering at the hotel

10:00 General sightseeing tour around Moscow with visiting the central city streets and squares, Moskva River embankment with the Kremlin panorama, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Vorobyovy Gory, Moscow State University, the Novodevichy Convent (from the outside), the Arc de Triomphe, Poklonnaya Gora (2 hours)

12:00 Walking tour around Red Square and Alexander Garden. (2 hours)

Red and Manezhnaya Squares, Alexander Garden, Iberian Gates, Kazan Church, GUM building.

09:00 Departure to the sightseeing bus tour around St. Petersburg (Nevsky Prospekt, Palace Square, "Bronze Horseman", Admiralty, Arrow of Vasilievsky Island, cruiser "Aurora", Smolny Сonvent, Tauride Palace).

13:00 Lunch

14:30 The Hermitage.  Museum of fine, decorative and applied arts, located inside the Winter Palace, in the center of St. Petersburg.

19:00 Day of Victory dinner.

Day 10

8:30 Trip to the Tsarskoye Selo. CATHERINE THE GREAT PALACE

The exposition of the Catherine (until 1910, the Great Tsarskoselsky) Palace Museum covers a history of over 300 years of the outstanding monument's existence and introduces the creativity of the architects who participated in its construction and decoration in the 18th-19th centuries.

The palace in the Baroque style impressed with its size, powerful spatial dynamics and the "scenic" decorations. Its wide facade azure ribbon with snow-white columns and gilded ornament looked festive

В мае 2018 года к нам приехали гости из США, Германии, Мексики, Болгарии, Израиля, Латвии, Бельгии. Мы вместе посетили чудесные древнерусские города: Переславль-Залесский, Кострому, Владимир, Суздаль.

Юбилейная программа была отличная, переданы поздравления от Москва - Восток, установлены дружеские отношения. От имени делегации переданы средства для развития проекта болгарских ротарианцев - Ротарианский парк для горожан и детей с ограниченными возможностями.
